Launch of the serious game SEGAE

Take part in the Live session on December 16!

One of the main challenges for European agriculture is to produce sufficient quality food while reducing its impact on the environment. Agroecology appears to be one of the promising solutions to achieve these goals. However, its teaching requires adapted tools to facilitate the systemic approach, multidisciplinarity and the management of transitions in agriculture.

To meet this objective, 6 partners have united to develop SEGAE:

  • University of Liège - Belgium
  • University of Agriculture in Krakow
  • University of Bologna
  • Oniris - France
  • École supérieure d'Agricultures (ESA) - France
  • AGROCAMPUS OUEST - France, in charge of project coordination.

Now tested and approved, the SEGAE game is ready to be used by everyone from December 16, 2020.

Principles of the game

The player manages a virtual farm and implements agroecological practices to improve its sustainability. Four European standard farms are offered: French, Italian, Belgian and Polish.

The game is aimed at teachers in universities, agricultural colleges, as well as agricultural advisers in continuing education. The game aims to train these players so that they contribute to the agroecological transition of European agriculture.

A free and collaborative game

Funded by the ERASMUS + programme and the AEI Chair, the game will be accessible free online from December 16 and available in 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Polish). The partners also provide tutorials, educational guide and online courses.
